General Information About the Department
The Painting Department, which was opened under the Faculty of Fine Arts of Çankırı Karatekin University, started its education process between 2007-2008 in the central campus building allocated to them by the university. Since 2020, It has been continuing his education process under the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. As of January 2024, in our department; There are 3 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors, 1 Lecturer Doctor and 1 Research Assistant Doctor.
The Painting department, aims to provide its students with an education that will meet the expectations and requirements of the era, with its equipped workshops. After the basic education given in the first year, students focus on the discipline of painting with various styles and techniques. In addition to the field of printmaking, interdisciplinary art practices are taught and encouraged. Classes are on average 15 people. Graduates of the department can continue their life as a freelance artist or utilize the aesthetic and technical equipment that they have received from their education in the fields of art education, art consultancy and restoration. Willing students can continue their education and make academic career.
Tuition Fee
There is no tuition fee payment for undergraduate and graduate education (except for foreign students).
Final Examination
a)Successfully completing the courses, practices and internships envisaged by the diploma program in which it is enrolled, in accordance with the provisions of ÇAKU Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Regulation,
b)Successful completion of one hundred twenty (120) credits at the associate degree level, two hundred forty (240) ECTS credits at the undergraduate level,
c)For the Associate / Undergraduate students, the general academic grade pointaverage must be at least 2.00.
Our department`s students must have completed all the compulsory courses in theprogram and provided at least 240 ECTS credits. It is obliged to choose atleast 41 of 240 ECTS graduation requirements from the total elective coursecredits of 81 ECTS. Students can take all elective courses from the departmentif they wish. Students who want to take elective courses outside the departmentcan choose the remaining 41 ECTS from the faculty pool if they wish. Ifstudents want to take courses from the university pool, they can take a maximumof 21 ECTS courses.

Scholarship
Undergraduate and graduate students of the Painting Department can apply for scholarships and loans provided by the Credit and Hostels Institution when they start their education. They can also receive support for scholarships from the municipalities and chambers (such as the Chamber of Commerce) where they reside.
Part Time Work
Students registered in the Painting Department can apply to work part-time in different departments of our university as of the beginning of the
academic year. Part-time working wages and conditions are announced on the website at the beginning of each semester by the Department of
Health, Sports and Culture.
